Ryan Olson of Simpson’s Trailhandler Tours loved the booth.
Councilmember Kathy Hayden helped set up the booth.
Tracy Farhad of Solvang, California brought her own apron!
Tenzin told us that in Tibet, rhubarb is called “choo choo” (phonetically speaking) and is eaten raw with sugar or chili.
With Tenzin from Sichuan Miracle Tours
Leila Storm Velez, the trade sales coordinator for Madame Tussauds Hollywood enjoyed the booth with Shelly Schlumpf of the Puyallup/Sumner Chamber of Commerce.
Berryland Cafe’s pies looked right at home under a view of Mt. Rainier from the Sumner area.
Sumner’s beautiful booth was a team effort. The fresh rhubarb is from Leslie & Son, the photo of Mt. Rainier was from City employee Derek Barry, printed so beautifully by Northwest Autowraps, a Sumner company, and framed masterfully by the Public Works Shops.
Shelly sets out some pies from Berryland, including a rhubarb, marionberry rhubarb and strawberry rhubarb.
David from Wyoming tastes one of the pies from Berryland.
Estelle Miller from Hornblower was one of our best fans! She brought many friends over to see the pies.
Wolf from Stuttgart gets his picture taken in the booth with Carmen. He tried to take a picture with his phone, but he didn’t quite know his new phone, and we didn’t know German.
Adventure Day
Touring Dillanos Coffee Roasters:
The Culinary Adventure Tour started off at Dillanos Coffee Roasters in Sumner.
Dillanos welcomed visitors from around the world.
Melissa of Dillanos gave an introduction to all guests.
Visitors liked taking pictures up against the stacks of coffee in burlap bags.
Also popular was the coffee beans coming out of the roasting machine.
And the bags of coffee lined up, ready for shipping.
Of course, there was sampling of coffee.
Visitors tried light, medium and dark roasts. All were declared yummy!

And more pictures!
Even the Tea Madame’s pots offered a colorful moment for photographs.
